Tianhe-1 Pflop Supercomputer developed

October 29, 2009, National University of Defense Technology and the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin issued to the media that "Tianhe-1" pflop supercomputer was successfully developed. This marks that the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin built by the Binhai New Area and the National University of Defense Technology becomed the first petaflop computing capability in China, one of few petaflop super-computing center in the world.
